Volkswagen Group South Africa has launched an online maths initiative to provide support to 1 000 learners in Nelson Mandela Bay.
The Volkswagen Maths Initiative is developed in partnership with Tuta-Me and Odin Education. The initiative will provide support to learners in grades 10, 11 and 12.
The pilot will run for three years, and aims to increase the number of learners achieving a university pass in maths in grade 12:
- Tuta-Me will host weekly live tutoring sessions online, and a 24-hour Ask-a-Tutor service
- Online resources, such as lesson materials and past exam papers, will be available
- Some learners will use their mobile devices to access the services, and some will use an Omang device – an e-learning tablet supplied by Odin Education.
