About Trialogue

Trialogue is one of only a few consultancies in South Africa that focus exclusively on corporate responsibility issues. Over two decades of experience puts us at the forefront of new developments in sustainability and corporate social investment (CSI).

We are a 51% black-owned company and the southern African Local Authority of the CECP Global Exchange.

We share our knowledge through our publications, conference, training programs and forums, and use our expertise to support clients through our consulting and reporting services. From our offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, we serve clients across South Africa.

Consulting services

Trialogue supports its clients in making their CSI and sustainability practices more effective through its end-to-end consulting process, which covers strategy development and implementation, stakeholder engagement, management and measurement systems, benchmarking, and evaluation.

Using our Integrated Sustainability Model, we help business leaders embed organisational purpose to achieve strategic integration of sustainability across all elements of the business. Services include aspirational positioning, leadership oversight, integrated sustainability strategies and management frameworks, materiality assessments, selection and adoption of ESG and reporting codes and standards, stakeholder engagement and communication. Our market-leading assessments measure sustainability maturity in businesses. This results in tailored solutions and leadership visibility in the sustainability journey.

We provide an integrated approach to our CSI work to ensure strategic and operational alignment to core business. We offer executive level presentations on CSI trends and developments, CSI strategy and policy development, and implementation support. Implementation support includes identifying new projects or programmes, developing guidelines and templates, benchmarking, advising on sector lead practise, supporting CSI communication, stakeholder management and training on CSI practices, and monitoring and evaluation

Trialogue supports clients in setting up integrated M&E frameworks and we undertake monitoring and evaluation assignments. The depth of M&E support ranges from rapid project reviews to in-depth evaluations. We adopt a three-tier approach to project monitoring, to ensure KPIs are embedded in the implementation process, that data collection processes are agreed on and followed and that accurate and relevant reporting of outcomes is achieved. Our reporting support includes the design of PowerBI and Excel dashboards to enable ongoing tracking and decision making

Trialogue offers a full reporting service, from concept design, information collection, writing and editing, through to print management and delivery. Our offering goes beyond compliance-based reporting, drawing on consulting expertise to embed integrated sustainability principles in the report structure and messaging. Services include integrated reporting, sustainability reporting, ESG reporting and social impact reporting as well as other auxiliary reports.

Thought leadership platforms

Trialogue’s knowledge-sharing platforms provide corporate clients with the opportunity to profile their work, position their brands as thought leaders, and share their insight with peers in the development sector.
For more than two decades, The Trialogue Business in Society Handbook has been the leading corporate social investment (CSI) publication in South Africa, providing reliable data and insight that has contributed to deepened understanding and impact in the developmental sector. The publication responds to the increasingly holistic role of business within society, encapsulating but not bound by the concept of CSI.
This annual event convenes more than 400 civil society, private- and public-sector delegates to share insights and innovations, in order to strengthen development interventions. In 2022, we hosted our first hybrid event, which explored the theme of reconnection after the lockdowns and physical distancing brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. Diarise 9 and 10 May 2023 for the must-attend next Trialogue Business in Society Conference.

A freely online platform, the Trialogue Knowledge Hub is a comprehensive and growing body of knowledge on topics across numerous development sectors. The Hub provides companies with the ability to showcase their social investment work across chosen areas of development and to reinforce good citizenship positioning of their corporate brand. Additionally, the NPO Directory on the Hub helps funders identify non-profit organisations (NPOs) for potential partnerships.

The Trialogue Academy is an educational platform offering online and hybrid courses in responsible business, sustainability and corporate social investment. It distills more than two decades of industry experience and thought leadership, providing professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to deepen their understanding of key concepts in development.

Trialogue hosts monthly webinars, providing expert input and insights on a range of responsible business topics. CSI and responsible business practitioners can engage in discussions that help to enhance the impact of responsible business initiatives.

Trialogue has partnered with Expresso, SABC 3’s award-winning breakfast show, to provide select companies with the opportunity to showcase their responsible business initiatives. This unique opportunity amplifies companies’ commitment to social and community development.

The 2023 Trialogue Business in Society Handbook is available.
