The South African Special Risks Insurance Association’s (Sasria) corporate social investment (CSI) efforts span a range of social development causes, with a special focus on education and skills development.
The association’s investment in education includes supporting UCT Online High School, partnering with Primestars through their EduCare programme, multiple tertiary education bursary programmes and Sasria’s flagship, the South African Actuaries Development Programme. In partnership with the Adopt-A-School-Foundation, Sasria also contributes to addressing infrastructure challenges in under-resourced community schools.
Recognising the skills shortages in the insurance sector, Sasria has committed to combating youth unemployment and to building a strong pipeline of future sector talent through its graduate and learnership programmes. The association has also introduced three programmes in partnership with the Insurance Institute of South Africa to nurture young talent and partners with the Insurance Institute of Gauteng on the Insurance Leadership Development Programme and skills development and mentoring programmes.
