DBSA

Driven by its purpose of building prosperity in Africa for positive social impact, the Development Bank of Southern Africa’s (DBSA) corporate social investment (CSI) programmes and initiatives are designed to accelerate the organisation’s impact.

DBSA partners with established nonprofits, non-government and public benefit organisations to implement flagship three-year programmes that serve the socioeconomic needs of the communities in which DBSA operates, primarily in the education and health sectors. In exceptional instances, programmes may be extended for a further three years, depending on development impact. The organisation prioritises the engagement and participation of community and beneficiary stakeholders in all of these initiatives.

Aligned with the National Development Plan (NDP) and United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), DBSA’s programmes pursue an integrated approach to infrastructure development. Projects are intended to shape the development landscape in ways that can alleviate poverty and encourage sustainable socioeconomic growth in South Africa and across the continent.
