African Philanthropy is Emerging as a Force. How Can it Increase Support to African NGOs?

Research shows that African philanthropists gave much more than usual to COVID-19-related causes in 2020 but a very small percentage of the major gifts were given to African NGOs (those headquartered in Africa). Why did African philanthropy not support African NGOs?
