National Mentorship Movement NPC

The National Mentorship Movement exists to introduce mentorship at scale across South Africa, supporting entrepreneurs and others to create jobs and build social trust. Working in partnership with a range of organisations, we are committed to unlocking the power of mentorship to empower people to make a success of their lives, add value to our partners, their programmes and their beneficiaries, and give mentors the opportunity to give back and grow. 

We mobilise volunteer mentors and connect them to people who could benefit from their support, in collaboration with our partners. Our primary beneficiary groups include: 

• Entrepreneurs – from grassroots business owners to innovation-driven founders. Young people – including students, interns and youth seeking development and employment opportunities. 

• Individuals within organisations who want to mentor or benefit from mentorship internally.  

Over the past year, our partners have included the CSIR, Deloitte, Discovery, the IDC, Mancosa, Nedbank, Pernod Ricard, Primestars, TCTA and the V&A Waterfront. 

Since inception, we have facilitated mentorship support for more than 3 100 people, with over 1 800 mentors registered on our platform, impacting almost 8 000 people’s lives.  

Our outcomes are strong: 85% of participants report making progress towards their goals; over 90% are satisfied with their mentor match, interpersonal relationships and overallexperience; and 94% would recommend the programme to others.
