Masicorp works for the people of Masiphumelele township, focusing on education and skills development across all age groups, from pre-school to adulthood. The organisation helps bridge gaps by enabling disadvantaged community members to access quality education. By equipping individuals with the skills needed to identify and pursue opportunities, Masicorp supports their journey towards sustainable livelihoods, using education as a pathway out of poverty,

Its programmes aim to improve learning outcomes for pre-and primary school children, laying the foundation for a successful school career. This includes early childhood development initiatives as well as literacy and numeracy support at primary school level. These interventions are designed not only to strengthen academic performance, but also to build confidence and readiness for ongoing learning and employability. Masicorp also supports teenagers and adults through digital literacy training, while working to increase access to technology in this under-resourced community. Alongside this, its sewing and life skills programme helps residents build practical capabilities, strengthen self-confidence, and improve their employability.

A core principle of Masicorp’s approach is that the community should have a direct role in shaping the support it receives. For this reason, the majority of staff are developed from the Masiphumelele community itself. The organisation’s teacher training programme, particular, supports local women to obtain early childhood development qualifications while working in Masicorp educare centres, creating both employment and a pipeline of skilled educators within the community.
