The Association for Savings and Investment South Africa (ASISA) represents the majority of the country’s asset managers, collective investment scheme management companies, linked investment service providers, multi-managers and life insurance companies.
The ASISA Foundation focuses on financial literacy and financial education programmes. The Foundation is a non-profit initiative of ASISA, and it aims to influence sustainable changes in behaviour so that more people can manage their finances more effectively, which will enable greater participation in the economy.
Their programmes include:
- WageWise, a consumer education programme for workers. The Sanlam Foundation supports this programme.
- FLAME, a socio-economic development programme to support entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises
- Build Up, a financial literacy programme for organisations and groups working together on a common goal
- Retirement Fund Trustee Education provides training to hose involved in retirement funds, especially newly-elected trustees
- The SWW L+EARN Campaign targets young adults in tertiary institutions as they prepare for the world of work through various financial education and consumer financial education programmes.
