Smile Foundation is a South African nonprofit organisation that partners with academic hospitals to provide life-changing reconstructive surgery and comprehensive care for children affected by facial conditions, congenital abnormalities and severe burns, helping them lead healthier, happier lives.
Founded in 2000, the organisation works with specialist medical teams in public-sector hospitals across South Africa to improve access to treatment for children from underserved communities. In addition to funding and facilitating surgery, Smile Foundation provides psychosocial support to patients and their families, invests in medical equipment and skills development, and helps raise awareness of the challenges faced by children living with facial differences and other reconstructive conditions.
