OLICO Maths Education

OLICO Maths Education is a South African non-profit organisation with nearly 20 years’ experience improving maths outcomes in low-income communities. Its mission is to make maths make sense for every learner, every teacher and the broader education system.

OLICO works directly with more than 5 000 primary school learners and 2 000 high-school learners each year, while supporting partner organisations that reach a further 28 000 learners. Its digital resources, including the WhatsApp Maths Hotline, support approximately 25 000 high-school learners annually.

The organisation works in partnership with the Department of Basic Education (DBE), schools, youth employment programmes, nonprofits and local communities. All teaching and learning materials are made freely available under a Creative Commons licence, enabling wider access and impact.
