Sanlam funds Business Buzz through the WITS Radio Academy. The weekly business show aims to unravel the complexities of business and finance for students. It has a listenership of over 400 000.

STANLIB SMARTBUCKS MOVIE
“Smartbucks, Mind Your Moolah” is a 60-minute movie which is designed to teach high school learners the basics of managing money, while entertaining them at the same time. Since 2012 over 60 000 learners from 300 schools in disadvantaged areas have benefited. This year it will reach over 12 000 learners from the most disadvantaged schools selected by the Department of Basic Education.
FINANCIAL CONSUMER EDUCATION FOUNDATION BY FSB/CORONATION AND OTHERS
Train-the-trainer project, a national initiative in partnership with community-based organisations and government departments aimed at transferring knowledge to identified groups.
- Industrial theatre performances and exhibitions targeted at the youth and low-income consumers.
- Creation of case study DVDs for the trustee toolkit handbook as supplementary. Targeted at consumers in rural communities, the youth in school and out of school, including trustees of private pension funds and members
CITIIGROUP OPERATION HOPE
Banking on our future program. HOPE Global Initiatives (HGI) is committed to teaching financial literacy education to youth in South Africa through the Banking on Our Future program. Operation HOPE, in partnership with Citi, International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund have committed to invest $1 million USD, and to recruit, train and mobilize more than 250 local professional HOPE Corps volunteers in a new and innovative private/public partnership to teach 50,000 South African youth and young adults in financial literacy, dignity and entrepreneurship in South Africa. The program aims to reach 50,000 South African youth and young adults.
