Christel House South Africa

Christel House South Africa empowers children to rise above adversity, realise their potential, and become thriving South African citizens. The non-profit school, based in Ottery, Cape Town offers no-fee scholarships to students from 29 of Cape Town’s severely under-served communities and supports them for 19 years (Grade RR to Grade 12 and five years post-matric) through character-based and career-focused education. Education is enabled through nutrition and healthcare, life skills, social support, and college and career guidance. This deep commitment ensures students are fully equipped to demonstrate their limitless potential and transform their futures.

Christel House SA is scaling its impact by building a new High School on its current campus, set to open in 2026. With only one high school for every four primary schools in the Western Cape, the need for quality secondary education is urgent. The new High School allows Christel House SA to increase its impact by 33% (adding 300 high school learners to the existing 907 student body).

The organisation has also set its sights on opening a second no-fee Grade RR–12 school in the Western Cape by 2027.
