Programme for Technological Careers (PROTEC) was established in 1982 and focuses on supporting learners and teachers in Science, Maths, English, Technology and the World of Work skills. Protec's vision is to build resilient individuals with the technological and entrepreneurial flair to tackle the vast issues facing South Africa and the continent.
In the past 42 years, we have provided opportunities to more than 40,000 learners from Grade 4 to Grade 12. Our 2023 matriculants came from 105 schools in disadvantaged areas in 4 provinces and amongst the 285 learners they achieved 384 distinctions.
We are a national, independent NPO, registered as a PBO and approved by SARS to issue Section 18 A certificates.
